For this project, RCM is overseeing the expansion of the Beauce School of Entrepreneurship student housing complex. The project involves adding ten modules across two floors, which will provide an additional 17 rooms for students. A laundry room, a janitorial room, and storage space in the basement will also be added, as well as an elevator covering all floors. These enhancements are expected to greatly improve the quality of life for students.
RCM is also working on other renovations, such as transforming the indoor pool into a modern conference room and completely renovating the school's front gallery.
The purpose of this project was to replace the camps set up to house students during the pandemic, and thus offer a more interesting living environment to those who live there.
This student residence project is similar to the concept of other residences of the same type, except that it is organized into separate buildings, each offering the same services. Students do not have to travel anymore from one wing to another in order to take advantage of the common areas, for example.
The project consists of three separate single-storey buildings, with a total of 25 modules. The building, however, offers a more attractive visual appearance, harmonizing with the neighbourhood where it is located. The interior is also closer to a student residence, but with fewer students per building than a more traditional "bachelor" type residence.
The buildings sit on a former tennis court in Somerville, Massachusetts. The project is located a few steps from the Davis Square station, on the red line of the metro leading straight to Downtown Boston.
Manufacturer of Modular Housing for Student
Dartmouth College is one of the most famous educational establishments in the United- States. When the need for a real student community originated, the directors of Dartmouth College came up with the idea of building duplexes, triplexes, quadruplexes and 6 and 8 apartment buildings, all in modular units.
The project offers many apartments such as two-storey townhouses, the whole complex near the college sport facilities. It hardly took two years to fabricate and install the 410 necessary modules for this project. It is still renown today as a reference for luxury student housing.
